Our Lady of the Rosary

We made a Rosary Cake. In a ring tin, with flowers for Our Lady..The cake was supposed to be blue. We added blue food colouring to the recipe but during cooking the cake turned green. A green cake, not a blue cake, for Our Lady!

... and at the same time you did science -- "WHY did the cake turn green?"

Blessings on this lovely feast

I'll need to think of something to do as well...probably not a green cake :)
Looks really yummy though!

Thanks for the good idea, Leonie. I think our cake will be white for Our Lady, because I can't find ANY food coloring in our cabinets, although I'm fairly sure we had some.

I am glad to see that you didn't make it look exactly like a rosary, which is what I thought when I first saw the title for your post, and which made me start to stress out needlessly about putting into action something which in my house would be doomed to failure. But a simple cake in a ring tin we can do!

We tried googling but haven't really found a clear answer about why the blue turned green...
