NOT Three Men in a Boat.

We love the book Three Men In A Boat by Jerome K. Jerome. It is quite humorous.

There is also an old film version available.

Well, last night we did not have three men in a boat. But we did have three priests over for dinner - and it was an enjoyable evening, with much humour. It was the laughter that prompted me to remember Jerome's book.

The three priests were two Franciscans - one from our parish and newly ordained - and a priest friend from interstate.

A friend recently posted a quote from Pope John Paul II on her blog. It was " "Families, be who you are!"

I guess that we are who we are, like it or not - but sometimes I do wonder - who are we as individuals and as a family?

How fun to have three priests join the good ship Westenberg for dinner. It's been a long while since we've had a priest over for dinner, although last night we did have a seminarian over. As he is an old friend of ours it was fun (not nerve0wracking!). He brought his Settlers of Cataan game and my three oldest sons (20, 18, & 13) played a game. As my oldest is "game-impaired" it was SO hard for him to stay with it. This seminarian homeschooled through high school in the classical method/unschooling...he definitely believes unschooling is the far superior method! SO encouraging to hear that.

Wow! How very encouraging, Amy.

I have the game Settlers of Cataan on our Christmas list - is it a good game?
