Lenten reading. And a haircut.

One of the books that I am reading for Lent is a little gem -
Saint Teresa of Avila for Every Day.

This book consists of short quotes from St Teresa's book "The Interior Castle".

Some recent quotes ~

If we practice love of neighbour with great perfection, we will have done everything.

In my opinion, we shall never completely know ourselves if we don't strive to know God.

Well, believe me, if we don't obtain and have peace inside our own house, we'll not find it outside.

And, as an aside - on a completely different matter; I move from the spiritual to the... the sublime?? :-) - well, I went to the hairdresser yesterday and asked for a trim and some layering. She got carried away and now my hair looks completely different! I felt nervous when I got home and looked in the mirror! lol!

Love the new 'do, Leonie! I think it looks wonderful on you -- how did the men in the family take it?

Also, I've always been a bit afraid of Teresa -- but this book sounds like I could handle it! THANKS!

The kids thought it was cool - and dh kept on teasing me, telling me I looked old and that my face looked fatter ( my two big fears! lol!).

I love St Teresa's writings - read The Way of Perfection one Lent and found it super helpful.

Leonie, you look lovely. I think a shorter cut makes one look younger! Flirty and bouncy! :)

I love the quotes. Like Mary, I can get lost in St. Teresa of Avilla. I tried to read Interior Castles a few year ago and got lost in the first room..lol

But she is great.. I like the little tidbits you gave us. Oh, these saints are just awesome. I love being Catholic!

Hey, Cindy - thanx for the nice comments. I have a fear of being one of those daggy older ladies, with horrible short hair! :-)

I think reading the saints' writing can help me more attractive on the inside - so I can work on both inside and outside. :-)
