A Good Wife.

Hmm. Not nodding in agreement. But I have been pondering the meaning of Proverbs 31. For me.

10 Who shall find a valiant woman? far and from the uttermost coasts is the price of her.
11 The heart of her husband trusteth in her, and he shall have no need of spoils. 12 She will render him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.

Hi Leonie,
I have come to your blog from Aussie Homeschool, and have been reading and chuckling. I love this post. Read that magnificent article to my husband, which was a stupid thing to do, as now he is complaining about what a bad wife I am, and how in future he is expecting that I will be removing his shoes and arranging his pillow...
I am reasonably sure that neither of my grandmothers, who were both housekeeping in 1955, would have had a bar of any of it...

Those particular verses are my life prayer...I even have them on my blog sidebar! We had our 17th wedding anniversary yesterday and I'm still working hard to 'do him good and not evil' with my day to day attitude and choices. He says I'm perfect...you gotta love a wonderful husband with such thick rose-coloured glasses. ;-)

I have always found Proverbs 31 very challenging as I love God, I want to honour Him and I want to be "her" (the 31 woman) but I fall so far from the mark.
In my Bible I just read that verses 10 - 31 are an acrostic, each verse beginning with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Interesting Anyway I will still strive to be "her" even though getting up while it is still dark is really hard.
