Nature Study at Home.

About two months ago we acquired a kitten - part Egyptian Mau, to be exact.

I am now NOT the only female in the house.

Belle is a constant source of amusement and cuddles and of endless conversation.

She has even provided good material for our nature journals. Thomas and Anthony added in some notes on cats, from their current research into cats and pets.

Leonie, your children's notebooks are wonderful! I really love the drawings and the dedication to the Holy Family on the top of the pages.

Congratulations on no longer being the only female! :)

Beckyt, the kids and I always write J.M.J. at the top of each journal page - a good dedication reminder. :-)

Aren't pets great, Leonie? They are always around to observe... Your cat sounds so cute.

Once at my co-op I taught a class on dogs.. and brought our irrpressible dachsund in for a Charlotte Mason style object study.. using the Handbook Of Nature Study as a guide. It was fun to try and figure out why all his parts were designed thus. Would be fun with a kitty, too! Shape of the ears, length and movement of the tail, etc.

Have fun!
