A Day. Today.
I held a morning tea for all the morning tea ladies at church ~ we serve morning tea once a month after the 10.30 a.m. Mass . I thought, for a change, that we'd sit and chat and I'd serve them. Instead of us all serving others.
It was lovely to talk together .
Oh, and we picked up ABBA Singstar. WOO HOO! So, tonight, at 10.00 p.m., after work and after Women's Group at church, when I finally arrived home, what did the kids and I do? Sing ABBA of course!
Have had a pretty fraky week ( to quote Battlestar Galatica). Enjoyable time at the Monet Exhibition, definitely, but also some gerneal unpleasantness with some other people. Things that left me feeling dirty. Violated even.
But God is good. Some little things helped, little things that meant a lot to me. Sweet people. Thoughtful actions. Nice things.
Including ABBA Singstar.
I do, I do, I do, I do, I do...

You are a hoot and a holler!
Love the blue and white china. As for the grumpy people you encountered, remember just smile and be you. You are loved Leonie!
I can't wait to do that singstar!
"Why are people so unkind"
(She says with an Indian accent...Sorry...couldn't resist that one..)
I do know what your talking about though...have had a doozy of year!
But like you said, God is good and I guess as we go through these things, it only serves to remind us that we have to keep our eyes on Him...the only one who never changes and is truly good!
Don't let 'them' get to you...don't let anyone put out the flame!
And at the end of the day...there is ABBA! Turn up the volume and SING, SING, SING!
Meant to add earlier: When you first referenced ABBA, (I think you were singing in a cave) I thought you meant Abba Father!!! You know that awful 7-s tune from mass. LOL,
I thought, "that Leonie what a witness". LOL, we LOVE ABBA!!!!!!! My children all know their songs, I thought we were dweebs for knowing their music. But, hey if hip Leonie down under says its cool it must be!
Hey, Julie, good to see you today - sorry we are always in a rush! We must get together before Xmas and over the hols...Thanks for nice words. Its hard sometimes not to let "them" put out my flame, I feel squashed sometimes with criticism. If I think about it, I either want to cry or to drop the volunteer stuff I do - hey, if I never crawl out of my shell they can never criticise me. So, instead, I try not to dwell on it, try to pary for those who say unpleasant things and try to just move on...
Oops - should read PRAY! lol~
Molly, I think Abba is way cooler now than they were in the 70s! :-)
And, yes, I know that song you mention - its on my list of songs not to sing at mass if I can help it. Alng with Yahweh I know you are near...lol!
We definitely will...once you're back we'll have to arrange something b4 I go and be a good wife and mother and sacrifice my creature comforts...though I do not promise how long I'll be able to stay there!
We are always in a rush too...the time together seems to always go by so quickly...but that's what life with teenagers is like isn't it...bundles of agendas to keep up with!
Thanks for having organized today...we loved the zoo...our feet are killing us now!
Sounds like it was fun! ABBA! lol...I hadn't thought of them in YEARS.
