Anthony's Tuesday Maths Activity

...was making his own magnetic tangrams, for us to play around with on the refrigerator.

From the site Making Your Own Maths Manipulatives.

Those look like fun!
If he's going to use these to solve tangram shape puzzles, Anthony may want to make another copy of the parallelogram, flipped over. All the other shapes are the same no matter how you put them down, but the parallelogram is different when you flip it---like the difference between your right and left hand. And just as a right glove will not fit your left hand, some tangram puzzles require the parallelogram to go one direction and some the other way.

Very interesting!

We've been reading the Sir Cumference books and the Round table one might "fit" with this activity!

Thank you for the idea!
